After longing for Tao's cakes for a while now, I finally found the time to drop by Plump on Bangkung Row.
The savory menu may be small but portions are gigantic. I had a Mushrooms on Toast with Soft Egg and while I have nothing for a scale, you'll have to take my word for it that the slab will take you a while to consume.
A crunchy crusted toast with a bouncy centre has creamy mushrooms of all types piled up high, crowned with a perfect soft boiled egg. My initial plan of having some cake became a takeaway instead.
The Kaya Toast cake was lovely with a moist almond cake sandwiching fragrant pandan kaya and a slightly salty cream layer. I was ecstatic to finally have a taste of this and it was everything I expected it to be.
The Victoria Sandwich was equally good with the same almond cake topped with a pleasantly-scented rose mascarpone. I don't usually like rose-anything but this was so enjoyable that I don't even have a photo.

The cakes sat in the fridge for 2 days before being consumed and it stayed moist! I can only imagine what a fresh cake would taste like.

I didn't enjoy the dark roast coffee but that's not what I'll be here for from now on.
